Perlman Fine Jewelry was established in 1960 in downtown Elgin, Illinois, by Milton Perlman. He was a graduate of the famous Elgin National Watch Company's Watchmakers College. Perlman began by offering his customers a diverse selection of fine quality jewelry, watches and gifts, as well as hand engraving and watch repair services on premises. As the business grew, Perlman's opened one of the largest fine jewelry stores of its kind in Illinois and it received great acclaim. Milton was later joined in business by his two sons, and they expanded over the years opening bigger and better locations throughout the Fox Valley area.
